A Bit About Me

Dr. Bak grew up in Canton, Michigan where he played ice hockey with aspirations of playing in the NHL.  He benefitted from chiropractic care throughout his hockey career, from which he attributes much of his competitive edge.  He attended Life University for undergraduate and graduate studies under a hockey and golf scholarship as a result of his athletic accomplishments.

Dr. Bak graduated from Life University with Cum Laude honors earning a bachelor’s of science in biology and doctorate of chiropractic. He focused his studies on structural spinal rehabilitation and sports chiropractic techniques. Soon after graduating, Dr. Bak worked as team chiropractor for Life University’s ice hockey program.

Dr. Bak is advanced certified in Chiropractic BioPhysics® structural spinal rehabilitation and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner®.  In 2013, he was invited to present research on spinal biomechanics at the International Conference of Spinal Manipulation. Also in 2013, Dr. Bak presented spinal research at the 35th Annual Chiropractic BioPhysics® Symposium.  In 2014, He worked with former Russian Olympic trainer, Vladimir Chubinsky, presenting research on the benefits of heavy load isometric training programs to various NHL organizations.  In 2016, Dr. Bak accepted the role of team chiropractor for the National Rugby League Atlanta Rhinos and is working on spinal biomechanic research.  In 2017, he graduated from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego with advanced credentials in motor vehicle crash and traumatology.  To date, this is the highest certification in traumatology as it relates to spinal injuries and mild traumatic brain injury.

In practice, Dr. Bak serves as an authority on spinal rehabilitation and athletic performance as well as injury prevention/correction.  His practice within Brain & Body focuses on structural corrective care and improving spinal alignment through ligamentous remodeling.  This is like being an orthodontist for the spine.

Dr. Bak treats whiplash injuries, scoliosis, spondylolisthesis, reversed curvatures, and leg length inequality to name a few of the common conditions he specializes in treating. Dr. Bak is currently involved in conducting research with other health care professionals.   Community outreach and education endeavors focusing on spinal health awareness is a major focus and passion of his.
